ISAM 2011

ISAM VIDEO CONTEST

International Symposium on Audiological Medicine (ISAM-2011) invites entries of Videos to Educate the general public on the profession of Audiology and what Audiologists do for their patients. This year, ISAM promotes the public education about “Role of Audiologist” at HEAR EXPO to highlight the complete scope of practice of an Audiologist through ISAM video contest. The videos should instill hope for the hearing impaired.

The First prize for this contest is Rs.10,000/- . All the selected entries will receive ISAM certificate of participation.

All videos must be submitted by November 15, 2011, and judging will be completed by December 5th, 2011. The selected videos will be played at the public exhibition of Audiology named “HEAR-EXPO” at Bhubaneswar.

Contest Rules and Guidelines

Video must be of two minute to five minutes duration. The coverage to have aspects of the entire scope of practice for audiology – i.e., hearing evaluation, Diagnostics, balance disorders, (re)habilitation, work with pediatrics, Geriatrics, Amplification, (fitting Hearing aids and implantable devices) and ALDs etc. They should be original work and wherever required copy rights and other legal paraphernalia to be taken care of while submitting the entries.

Represent Audiologists as the most qualified health-care professionals to assess hearing and its disorders.
Represent audiologists as registered Rehabilitation / health care professionals who work in patients' best interest, including referring to physicians when necessary and working with patients to determine the best way to help them cope with their hearing loss taking into account their lifestyle etc.
Represent patients in a positive light.
Must Include a link to www.isam.co.in and www.ihsindia.org.

Helpful Tips for Shooting a Video

The videos can shot in Clinics, hospitals or institutes offering Audiology Education
Use either English or Hindi and good speaking voices. Voices should be heard clearly and easy to understand. Remember, we want use your video for the common people, many of whom may have hearing loss!
Soft Music may be used without violating copyright laws.
Proper lighting should be there while recording.
If you are recording the opinions of patients, take their permission for public use of the material thus shot by you.
Make it enjoyable for the viewers and above all have fun making the video !

Directions for Posting Videos to YouTube and Submitting Entry

All videos submitted must be first uploaded to a YouTube account.

When uploading your video to YouTube, ensure you do the following:

Include ISAM -2011 video Contest in title
Put a name of your video
Include the tags: +audiology +Hearing Loss +Hearing aids
Select Category Nonprofits & Activism
Privacy should be Public
License should be Standard YouTube License
Copy the sharing URL for submission
